Special thanks and gratitude to everyone who helped install the North Garden. Would someone please remind me to have a volunteer sign-up sheet next time so I can give proper credit to everyone. Trying pull this information together after the fact is really a pain in the...(pinky:).
Thus, I will have to praise in generalities, we had guests from the Guest House, contractors, planning team members, students and faculty from the Medical College of Wisconsin, a master gardner and an edible landscape designer assisting on the HOTTEST day of the year to date. If you know who they are or recognize their picture please give them another pat on the back for me.
In 6 hours we carried cut and assembled 288 board feet of lumber into 9 8x4 ft raised beds; shoveled, pushed, dumped and raked 9 yards of soil and planted basil, tomato, pepper, cabbage and potato plants (sorry Vala, for those of you not in the know, she's not the biggest fan of potatoes).
And just in case you were wondering, we also consumed a half dozen pizza's, a couple six packs of soda, many gallons of water and a bottle of sun screen.
